The Harbour House Museum - It was built in 1900 for the Harbour family by Fred Floodstrand a master mason and bricklayer. The house was constructed with cement blocks and designed in the "steamboat" style of architecture with wraparound twin porches. The Harbour House Museum is a "hands-on" museum where many activities take place during the summer season. The Harbour House Museum is open from the first Tuesday in June through the last Saturday in August. Guided tours are available 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tuesday - Saturday. There is a modest admission charge.
The first floor is a replica of a Victorian home of the 1900's.
The Library contains copies of the "Diamond Drill" newspaper dating back to the 1880's.
Geneological research will be done by request, and donations are accepted.

THE FOYER
The above is what greets you upon your entrance to the Harbour House Museum. Come and visit this beautifully restored "Turn of the Century" home setting.

Also in the Foyer is an Automaton.
Circa 1885, this piece of history is in operating order and we are hopeful that our guests (of all ages) will delight in its novelty and uniqueness.

FORMAL PARLOR/MUSIC ROOM
The above is a look into the formal parlor. This room is complete with pocket doors.

KITCHEN DISPLAY
Included in the kitchen is an ice box and ice tongs. Above the wood stove is a glass fire extinguisher. On the stove are flat irons and iron holders.

Upstairs are six exhibit rooms with the themes: Local Logging & Mining, Women's Interest Room, Veterans, Local Trophy/Sports with Photos and Tropies from the school and the area, Ojibwe Room, Children's Antique Toys.
LOCAL LOGGING & MINING ROOM
Displays of artifacts and pictures of the two industries that created Crystal Falls.

WOMEN
The Women's Room includes an open steamer trunk of era clothes and memorabilia concerning fasion, religion and home, with a restored "fainting couch."

VETERANS
The Veterans Room contains artifacts from the Civil War through Desert Storm. Of particular interest are scrapbooks covering World War II.

CHILDREN'S ANTIQUE TOYS (Hands On)
The Children's Antique Toy Room features a miniature carousel, toys and posters.

OJIBWE PEOPLE
Dedicated to the memory of Charlotte Bennet Eckerberg, mother of Julia Nyholm, a former resident, it is a tribute to the many uncounted generations of Indian people who have lived for centuries in this area. The exhibit consists of family heirlooms and the personal collection of Earl R. Nyholm, Mrs. Eckerberg's grandson.
