PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE
NOTICE
On October 11, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, Township residents will have the opportunity to get rid of materials for fall clean-up.
Packer Trucks will be stationed behind the Township Hall. Drivers will monitor drop offs.
Accepted ITems: Small furniture, small applicances, old cloting, small pieces of wood (4 ft. or Less). Items that do not fit into bags. Any non-hazardous waste.
Items NOT ACCEPTED: NO yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, branches, NO tires, NO refrigerators/freezers, NO items marked as hazardous (stains, insecticides, oil, etc.) NO batteries. The Township has a site for yard waste at the Old Township Dump, which will be opened in the morning and gated at night.
Crystal Falls Township Board
Crystal Falls Township will be having a Recycling Day on the first Wednesday of every month commencing August 6, 2008. From 7:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Township Hall parking lot.
RECYCLING:
Glass: Bottles must be rinsed out. Remove all lids or caps.
Cans: Cans must be rinsed out. It is not necessary to remove the labels.
Plastics: Look for #1 or #2 on the bottom of plastic bottles. Rinse containers. Opening must be smaller than the bottom of the container. Remove all lids or caps. Only #1 or #2 are acceptable.
Paper/Cardboard: Books, cardstock, cartons, envelopes, newspaper, magazines and paper.
NONRECYCLING:
The followoing items are considered trash:
Glass: Lid, caps, drinking glass, ceramic, clay dishes, ovenware, opaque glass, lab glass, window, windshield glass.
Cans: Aerosol cans, paint cans, cat and dog food cans, pots, pans, car parts, nails, screws, metal rods, small appliances.
Plastic: Plastic bottles with codes #3 - #7, motor oil or cooking oil bottles, pesticide or herbicide containers, styrofoan or microwave containers, medical containers, caps or lids, yogurt or cheese containers, all plastic bags, antifreeze containers, buckets, banding.
The following items are not recycling, - put in trash.
Bathroom wasterpaper (towels, toilet paper) carbon paper (any color), cellophane, cloth, cork, foil, food waste, window glass, metal (except small amounts of staples and paper clips), packaged materials (unpacked) styrofoam, recording tape, waxed anything, facial tissue, and wax coated cardboard.
Ex: Candy wrappers, cups, fiberboard, labels and label packaging sheets, napkins, photographs, slides, transparencies.
